Lex!

index

Jurassic Park Legacy (jplegacy.org) reported yesterday that, according to an anonymous source, the character of Lex Murphy will play some role in Jurassic World. No information was given as to whether Ariana Richards will be in the movie, or if Lex will only be name-dropped or referenced. They don’t know what role the character will play at all, or her degree of involvement with the story.

Personally, I like this a lot. It’s only fair to fans (and the story line; Jurassic Park and Jurassic World take place under similar circumstances and on the same island, so the former has to be addressed at some point during the latter) to reference the first movie at least once or twice. This would be a good way to do that– at least, in the beginning of the movie. Obviously, we want to see the wreckage of the original Jurassic Park later on. And this could mean that we’ll get at least references to Grant, Sattler and Malcolm, which lots of fans have wanted for a long time. (It would be better if the characters had cameos, but none of them would have any reason to willingly go anywhere near Isla Nublar again, so name-dropping them once or twice would be an effective nod to them.) I’m excited, and I know that at least a few other people (*cough* CeruleanPen *cough*) are too. We’ll have to see how this plays out; who knows, maybe we’ll get to see Lex all grown up.

What do you think about all of this? Sound off in the comments!

  1. I think she should be one of the spies that stop the new Jurassic park from being public. Like she is a good famous scientist but changed her name so that she could work for the bad guys without them knowing it.
